Completing the FAFSA and CSS Profile are the steps in determining if you qualify for Free Money for College.

What is FAFSA?  In short, FAFSA is an  acronym for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.   This is application is a used by the U.S. Department of Education to determine your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).  The form is submitted to, and processed by, a federal processor contracted by the U.S. Department of Education (ED), and the results are electronically transmitted to the financial aid offices of the schools that you list on your application. You must also complete the FAFSA if you plan to take out Federal Student Loans for College.  

It is important to note that there is no charge to complete this application.  Please beware of sites that charge a fee to help you complete and monitor your FAFSA form. There is no need the FAFSA for is quick and easy to complete and you can monitor the status via the official FAFSA Website.
